Overview: Jake is based upon, Christopher Robin, the deuteragonist in a wonderful collection of classic children’s tales, centred on the celebrated and enchanting protagonist, Pooh Bear. Created back in 1926, Pooh Bear and, Christopher Robin, come to life for the very first time in what has proved to be a fruitful collection of children’s stories. The first book, Winnie-The-Pooh, which was written by; A. A. Milne (Alan Alexander Milne) and illustrated by the English artist & illustrator, E. H. Shepard (Ernest Howard Shepard), proved to have a winning formula. Jake, a typical seven-year-old boy, is full of life, charm, and has a wild and seemingly endless imagination, which sometimes gets him into all kinds of scrapes. The only child of, Albert and Victoria Hamilton, both grammar-school teachers, Jake’s middle-class upbringing does not allow him the luxury of constant companionship with his peers. Hence, due to his parents being perpetually busy, Jake spends most of his time, out of school hours, in his bedroom, with only his toys for company. And although Jake is not short of toys, he tends to have a particular favourite, by the way of a Steiff bear named, Edward.Jake’s other favourite pastime is drawing, which is a skill he has acquired over countless hours of sitting at his easel, with his best friend, Edward by his side.Together, Jake and Edward take off on magnificent adventures in Jake’s limitless imagination.Being the protagonist, Jake leads the way, as his trusted friend and surest ally, Edward follows. Through astoundingly vibrant and wonderfully contrasting levels, the inseparable duo takes on menacing, Umpers and their heartless overseer, Minus.
